I am broadly in favour of extending access to the community workspace, though the proposed timetable gives me pause. The case for wider access is persuasive; the assumption that existing staff can absorb the additional work is less so. My reservation concerns the means of delivery rather than the underlying objective. That distinction should not be mistaken for reluctance to make any change at all. A modest initial extension, accompanied by an explicit review of staffing needs, would have my support. I would withhold support from a permanent commitment until that uncertainty had been addressed.
